Automated Pipe End Preparation and Pipe Line Up Equipment
Pipe Facing preparation machines eliminate the reliance of oxy/acetylene
for bevel preparation. Whether using manual welding or automated
welding, this is the optimum way to manufacture bevels on-site. It will
replace slow end preparation methods currently used in Australia. Pipe
size range restriction is from 6 inch up to 60 inch.
Internal line up clamps are also useful for both manual welding and
automated welding. Certain welding processes use the internal clamp to
provide a copper backing ring behind the weld area to become a moulding
for the internal root face. Pipe line up times are drastically reduced
thus decreasing labour and time as compared to current line up methods
used in Australia.
Whichever process is chosen this is the optimum way to get the pipe
together. Internal clamps are released after root and hot pass to allow
the clamp to be moved to the next joint for preparation while the
previous join is being completed. This also reduces move times and line
up times.
The pipe end preparation crew shall handle all operations of line up to
allow the welding crew to gain maximum arc time.
